Omschrijving
Samenvatting:This case study for the SP14-4602 project centres on the The New England Award program, which is designed to encourage, recognise and reward students' personal and professional development through participation in extra-curricular activity. It is open to all UNE students and is targeted at 'whole person development'. Students report that participation in the program has multiple benefits, and these are different for each individual. Common experiences among UNE's distance education (hitherto referred to as 'distance') students are that participation leads to a greater feeling of belonging to the institution; increased sense of citizenship and immediate and longer term success in their professional lives. A summary of the case study is also available, published as: Citizenship and graduate attributes enrich the experience of distance students.
