الملخص:The key outcome of this project was a Web-based Nutrition Competency Implementation Toolkit (WNCIT) for entry-level medical courses. This WNCIT incorporated strategies and resources to successfully embed nutrition competencies into Australian medical courses. Four universities and the Dietetics Association of Australia partnered together to develop and evaluate the toolkit components, which included a curriculum mapping tool, learning outcomes (matched to an established nutrition competency curriculum framework), nutrition exemplars, nutrition education resources, and an instruction manual. Production of the WNCIT was informed by an expert reference group and the toolkit was disseminated through established networks linking universities. As WNCIT is freely available to universities, the process of curriculum renewal will be sustainable in the long-term. The development of nutritionally-competent medical graduates, able to identify and treat patients appropriately within an interdisciplinary team, will ensure suitable treatment is delivered that will effectively reduce the chronic burden of disease related to nutrition.
