Sumario:Final report for a 1997 National Teaching Development Grant. The project has resulted in a model for vertical integration within a traditional degree structure that did not require wholesale programme change. It has been established in the Veterinary Science programme at Murdoch University, but is widely applicable across all disciplines and programmes. It is particularly useful when students in earlier units are failing to identify the relevance of their learning, as it provides a context for their learning, and promotes deep learning through collaborative and student centred teaching practice.
