Samenvatting:This is a report for a National Teaching Development Grant (Individual) project funded by the Committee for University Teaching and Staff Development. The project sought to develop, implement and undertake some initial evaluation of Career Orientated Learning (COL), - an innovative, student-centred approach - within the context of postgraduate courses offered by the Industrial Research Institute Swinburne (IRIS). The approach emphasised the collaborative roles of the individual student, academic advisers and industry in the design and fulfilment of the learning and assessment processes. The report describes the project in detail and lists its considerable outcomes.
