| Итог: | Final report from a project that evaluated health professional interview skills training via a virtual world, in comparison to interview skills training undertaken via case study review. The Health Science Faculties at University of Sydney and University of Canberra engaged their students in the disciplines of psychology, physiotherapy and the general community health care sector, with simulated interview skills training via MyCosm Virtual World software. Ethical care situations within these environments were created in collaboration with Faculty of Law at The Australian National University. Typically, clinical interview skills training employs non-interactive strategies, such as fictional case studies. Advancements in simulated world technology now allow avatars to provide behaviour cues, as well as verbal responses, for recording in interviews. As such, the current study hypothesises that this technology will improve clinical interview skills training when compared to case study reviews of clients. The project outcomes will be transferable to other disciplines outside of health, such as law and policing. |
