| Achoimre: | Final report from a project where the primary objective and outcome was the development, design and production of Sound Performers, a tailor- made online course that offers Australian tertiary music students and institutions essential information on performance health and optimisation in an accessible, flexible and economical delivery mode. It uniquely combines and integrates information on both physical and mental aspects of music performance, and is innovative in its web- based IT delivery platform and supporting audio-visual materials, including specially produced demonstration videos to illustrate educational concepts. This innovative approach to online delivery serves as a new international benchmark by providing unprecedented accessibility to information that has been developed by highly regarded experts in the field of performing arts medicine, and on a large geographical scale. It addresses an important need in Australian higher education, not only educationally for tertiary music students, but also to ensure occupational health and workplace safety at Australian tertiary institutions. |
