Descrição
Resumo:This report provides an evidence-based resource for incorporating interdisciplinarity within undergraduate university curriculum. Universities are increasingly including interdisciplinary components within their curricula as they endeavor to address big issues, maintain relevance and meet the needs of students and employers. However, there is little practical advice available for the Australian context that addresses the design of interdisciplinary subjects. Drawing on case studies of successful interdisciplinary subjects as well as national and international literature of discipline based and interdisciplinary curriculum and pedagogy, this project will adopt a rigorous approach to considering the key components of interdisciplinary curriculum design, particularly teaching and learning approaches and the design of formative and summative assessment tasks.
