Summary:Final report from a project that focused on delivering the Handbook for Reviewing and Improving Multi-campus Units. The Handbook is an outcome of a series of university-based workshops and a residential retreat that brought together university teaching and support staff to discuss challenges and solutions in relation to designing, developing and delivering multi-campus units. Fifteen delivery aspects are the organising principle of the handbook: communication and collaboration, administration, staffing profile, academic staff role balance, leadership and management, intended learning outcomes, learning opportunities and resources, learning and teaching spaces, assessment, policies and procedures, student profiles, campus culture, external community and surroundings, multi-use campuses, and the reliability of technology. Section 1: Reviewing a multi-campus unit, includes 15 checklists to use when conducting a review of the 'health' of a unit. Section 2: Resources for improving multi-campus units, provides resources for use when exploring how to improve a unit. Case studies, strategy lists, a guide to the literature and linkages to other projects supported by the OLT, and its predecessor organisations, are provided to support the reader in finding immediate and longer-term solutions. Section 3: Facilitating workshops about multi- campus units, provides adaptable worksheets for use when an institution wants to initiate a deep and contextualised consideration of their learning and teaching environment. The University of Newcastle and Monash University were participating institutions in the project.
