| Achoimre: | Report on the development and implementation of an open-source computer assisted assessment system (CAA) for dissemination and embedding within tertiary education institutions. The report outlines initial research into staff and student experiences using a trialed prototype Computer Aided Feedback and Assessment System (CAFAS), and the design and implementation of a new web based advanced marking assistant (CAFAS Online). The report focuses on the 'feedback form' (proforma) method of delivering feedback and assessment results, and includes an overview of the user interface; approaches and methodology for the project; research studies through questionnaires and surveys; advancing existing knowledge; analysis of critical factors; applicability to other institutions; dissemination strategies; plans for further actions; and recommendations for further research and projects for these type of systems. The experiences and feedback of staff and students using CAFAS Online and the offline version CAFAS Excel are also outlined.
