An assessment instrument was required to meet the needs of students and educators and provide valid and reliable measurements of clinical competence. In particular the project: developed a competency based assessment instrument to evaluate the performance of physiotherapy students in the workplace; investigated and refined the psychometric properties of the instrument; and investigated the viability of using the instrument as a measure of physiotherapy competency in the practice environment.
