总结:In health care settings, doctors, nurses and allied health professionals are required to work cooperatively as a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care. While teamwork is essential for good clinical practice, in Australia the clinical preparation of undergraduate health care students is undertaken unprofessionally and seldom includes preparation for working with other health care professionals. Fellowships awarded by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council provided the opportunity to develop, implement and evaluate an Interprofessional Education (IPE) Activity for use during clinical placements in Australian health care settings. The collaboration between the Fellows from the disciplines of medicine and nursing allowed them to combine their experience and knowledge of two of the major disciplines within health care. The aim of the Activity is to develop students' knowledge of the respective roles of other health professionals by providing a structure incorporating IPE into the clinical education component of health professionals.
